History

1910
The International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) Local 30 was established on August 3, 1910, in Memphis, Tennessee and has a long-standing history of excellence and service. Initially authorized by the Executive Council of the IUEC, Local 30 was founded to represent and support elevator constructors in the Memphis area and has expanded its operations to serve not only Tennessee but also dozens of counties across Mississippi and Arkansas.

Expansion
Over the last century, Local 30 has seen significant growth and expansion extending its reach to now serve 26 counties in Tennessee, 36 counties in Mississippi, and Crittenden County in Arkansas. This expansion allows the union to support more members and provide essential services such as elevator construction, modernization, and repair to a broader geographic area.
Today
Today, Local 30 has 95 members and focuses on maximizing its training programs, investing in the latest technology, and improving safety standards to keep up with the demands of the elevator industry. Local 30’s history of strong leadership and its robust membership base combine to meet the demands of the modern elevator industry while preserving its longstanding heritage.
